Chairman, Southall Football Club
My keen interest in football led me to start The Elite Academy, a key player in, promoting the game of football, especially within the South Asian community, organized Soccer camps under the banner, ‘The Liverpool Way’ in UK, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand and India since 2005. My association with ‘The Liverpool Way’, provided an honour to work with the very best of the football field- David Johnson, Ronnie Whelan, Bruce Grobblar and Michael Thomas, just to mention of the legends. In July 2003, The Elite Academy organized the Samba Soccer Camp in London at Warren Farm, with the participation of renowned coaches from Brazil like Mr. Ze Carlos, the ex Brazilian International coach and, Zico’s Academy coach Mr. Ernesto Calainho. Few other renowned coaches at the Samba camp were Mr. Carlos Cunha, who played for some of the best Brazilian clubs and coached for clubs like Vasco Da Gama and Mr.Alfredo Sampaio. They have won many a titles as a coach and also discovered players such as Ronaldo and Catanha.
Vice Chairman, Southall Football Club
It gives me immense pleasure that Cordia-Southall Football Academy has been set up at Sanghol. My association with football as a player and as promoter began at a very young age when I played for 7 years to 16 years at school and later in my youth for district, county and England U16 level. This academy at Sanghol would be providing similar opportunities to students from the rural Punjab and enable them to play for clubs. My experience of playing for clubs, namely Pits hanger Dynamo, Harrow Rangers, West Ham Youth & Tottenham Youth, and Southall FC convinced me that there is need for such opportunities to be created in Punjab so that children participate in U12 and U17 tournaments and excel in football sport.
After having managed Southall FC and running First team and co-managing the reserves team, there is need for creating such teams to provide enough space to children to play and grow into international players. With my experience of daily running of Southall FC and working with Real Madrid Foundation through Sport for Unity Charity Project in Croydon. On a similar pattern, Cordia-Southall FC can set up coaches plan and academy/community programmes at Sanghol.
I am hopeful that in the times to come Cordia-Southall Football Academy Sanghol wil, be of world fame.
